Peach Icee From Heaven

This is so delicious I just had to post it.  It's kind-of an invention of my mom's.

Ahh. 

Here are the ingredients.   Sounds simple enough, right?  A can of peaches, ice, and a blender.

  

Pour a tray of ice cubes into your blender.

Open a jar of canned peaches (or a huge can if you don't have any jars)

And pour it into the blender, juice and all.

You don't even know how magical this is.

Blend it up until the ice isn't even chunky anymore and the entire mixture is smooth.

Be careful with your blender because of the ice cubes.  Start off on a low setting.

See how smooth and beautiful that looks?

Now pour it in a glass, put in a mint leaf if you want and wallah!

Peach icee supreme.

Random Plant Ramblings

Guess what???

This plant has been in that cup of water for approximately 2 months.

Seriously.

I guess the fact that it's mint has something to do with it. . . . But TWO MONTHS??

I decided that I needed to have a look.

So I took one.

The cut-off stem of the mint had grown roots.

Talk about an invasive species.  Now imagine dandelions or thistles. . . .

Paints a pretty scary picture, doesn't it??

Speaking of thistles. . .

That just gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. 

Revenge can feel so good.

Big Momma

Macavity has officially become the "Big Momma" of the farm.

We're all admiring her valiant attempts to escape from her ever vigilant, ever darling kittens.  

I love the tiny little tracks on the concrete.

She tries to escape,

but eventually they catch up to her. .  . .

and completely bury her.

Aren't they cute??

Jumpin'

I love Summer.  The living is easy, you don't have to worry about anything, and all you have to do is watch your brother be a nut on the tramp and take as many pictures as you can. . .

Ahh-

That's the life.

Did I mention the NUT in Corn NUT?

Ouch.

You don't even know how effectively one of these can ruin your day.

And they're absolutely EVERYWHERE.

We've been infested.

Help, please, someone.

This thing's 3/4 my size.  Excuse me while I die of fright.

Entering the Mist

So yeah. . . .

My mom already has done a post on this topic and I'm realizing that I've slightly ignored it since my first post on the trip.   

But actually- I'm mostly just happy that she's actually posting something!

We drove into San Francisco on the opposite side of the Golden Gate at around 10 the morning after we arrived. 

 Everything was shrouded in mist, making for this sad picture out of the windshield.  Oh well.  

After waiting for everyone in the extended family to arrive, we got out 

and started exploring the sight of some "cannons" that used to be posted at the edge of the bay .  

We had a blast.  As you can see, I even got a picture of my mom taking pictures!  (A rare sight) :)   

We all had a fun time exploring the old quarters of the base and peeking over the bluff at the Golden Gate (it occasionally made a rare appearance, peeking out of the mist.)

 

Then Grandpa gave us a lesson on weather in San Francisco and the history of the fort.

You can see the rapt listeners.

And we moved on into San Francisco.
