Goat Kidding 2009- Part 3

This is the kidding we were all in anticipation for- not because we were excited- because we were dreading it.  Last year the mom, Shadow-Lou, had two tiny babies and then had no clue what to do with them.  Therefore, they died.  Find the rest of the story here.

But this year the improvement was supreme.  On April 20 she easily had two beautiful babies- a boy and a girl, and she is being a good momma now.  The only problem was that when she was kidding, she refused to push.  It wasn't like she couldn't, she just wouldn't.  So we had to help out.  My dad says that if she ever does that again we're getting rid of her.  :)
But all's well that ends well.

Here is Shadow with her two babies, Chaldie and Un-named.  I would absolutely love it if you put a name suggestion for Mr. Buck here in the comments section.  We name Chaldie "Chalcedony" after the tradition of her father, "Carbide."  So I think we're going with the rock/mineral trend with these two kids.  The buck is an absolute doll.  He is the cutest, friendliest thing you could ever meet.
Shadow-Lou with Chaldie (Black Female).  The un-named back is the brown kid in the picture above this one.
More later, but feel free to vote on the 'cutest kid' right now and change your vote once you've seen all of the prospects.
Stay tuned for the last, and most exciting, part 4.

Yeah! You got your cloud! It looks great. I'm so glad all is going well with the kids, and I can't wait for part IV. You could call the buck Agate. That's the common name for a kind of quarts (that I know but can't even begin to spell) oh well.

you mean quartz? I agree that easy to remember names are better.

Well, I still like Mr. Friendly, but if we're going with a rock theme, how about Jasper? I'm so glad you're documenting the goats this year. Good journalism.
