At the beginning of this week, My mom got fed up with having the rabbit, Alec, in a tiny cage inside the chicken coop. So, she let him loose to roam free (but enclosed) with the chickens. Obviously a better life.
There was just one problem though. The rabbit could get out. Every time he got out during the day we would herd him back in. But what about nighttime? The solution: Shut the door!
Another problem: Tuesday night I forgot to shut the door- I was just clueless and thought that my dad had told me to check if the rabbit was still there.
Wednesday morning the rabbit was gone. Corn Nut was heartbroken, I felt guilty, and it was an altogetherly horrid mess.
Thursday afternoon, the rabbit was back. STRANGE! You wouldn't think that rabbits are the type of animal that comes back after running away. . . but yes, Alec the brave returned after a day and a half of adventuring all over who knows where.
To make the story short, I have now resolved to shut the door every night.
